SUPERMAN VS BATMAN Movie News - Actress Gal Gadot To Play Wonder Woman

OK, Here's some quick SUPERMAN VS BATMAN Movie News! Warner Bros recently announced that the Actress, Gal Gadot, will be playing Wonder Woman in the next Superman sequel. I'm not quite sure how most fanboys will feel about this but, personally, I think she's pretty HOT! 



Hey people, let's wait and see how things go before making a decision on this. You never know, she might be great as this character.

New Michael Keaton 1989 BATMAN MOVIE WALLPAPERS by Scoot Comics!

Our good buddy, Scott McMahan, just sent us a super-cool BATMAN WALLPAPER graphic he wanted us to share. The one he sent is the "oval circle" one in the middle. I usually like to feature more than one when I do a post so, using his artwork, I made the other two as super-wacky variations.

STARRING ADAM WEST - Batman Fan Movie Showing in Napa Valley Film Festival NOV 13-17

This post is mainly a shout-out to any Bat-Blog readers who might live near Napa Valley. In about a week or so the completely wonderful STARRING ADAM WEST Documentary Film will make an appearance at the Napa Valley Film Festival on November 13th through the 17th, 2013.

Chris Fischer's IRON BAT COWL - Batman & Ironman Hybrid Custom Mask

We just got news about a brand-new custom piece made by our Friend & Graphic Designer, Chris Fischer. It seems he has combined the idea of combining an Ironman Helmet with Batman-style. Thus, making it a "Battle Cowl" for the Dark Knight. Here's the prototype pic up above, check it out. WOW, it looks pretty cool!

VIDEO: The LEGO Movie HD Trailer 2 - BATMAN Appearance

It looks like Batman is gonna be a major character in the next brand-new LEGO MOVIE, awesome!

THE JOKER is Making an ART Appearance at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, CA!

Here's a quick shout-out for our friend Sean Naylor who is a graphic artist from Southern CA. He wrote me to let us know about a brand-new "Batman-inspired" JOKER Art Print he made for a currently-running art gallery show in California. You can also buy this item online, just CLICK HERE!



Anyway, you can see the artwork LIVE in a group art show called, "Crazy 4 Cult: Say Hi to the Bad Guy!". It's at the Gallery1988 in Los Angeles, CA. The show is themed around villains and bad guys from cult classic movies & TV shows. 



For Sean's piece he chose to create an homage to Jack Nicholson's THE JOKER from the 1989 BATMAN Movie. It's pretty awesome! There are also a few other Joker pieces in the show, and lots of other amazing pop culture art as well. (Thanks Sean and Good Luck).

Here's Some Random Crazy Batman BATMANIA For Ya!!

I've been kind of behind on my posting lately. Sorry, my life is in near crisis, and it's hard to get motivated, but I wanted to share these totally wonderful photos that some Bat-Blog Fans have been sharing with me lately and I want them all to know that their input means a lot to me and that I also appreciate it very much. It might seem like it took me awhile to get this stuff up but I've been seriously busy. So, here we go!

First up is this fun photo of our good buddy, a guy named Zdravko. He lives in Bulgaria and was pretty happy to attend a recent Comic Con event on his side of the World. While there he got to meet this lovely "Modern Comic Book Catwoman". This beautiful cosplayer has a GREAT costume. Plus, check out that sly smile on Z's face... it's priceless!



OK, you have drooled over Catwoman long enough, ha! 

So now it's time to check out this ultra-cool 1960's BATMAN Movie Poster that our friend Matt recently got signed at a Comic Con-type event. Now, it's important to note that this poster isn't a vintage 60's item but something completely brand new. It's a signed Christopher Franchi print and the cool thing is that Matt also got it autographed by Adam West, Burt Ward and Lee Meriwether at Monster-Mania 26 in Hunt Valley, MD. Love Franchi's work!



Then, last but not least, here's a fun photo of  our good buddy Jeff as he appeared as the Caped Crusader in a recent TV Commercial for a Chevrolet Car Dealership in New Jersey. Yes, Jeff is gonna be on television!! Not only him but his 1966 Batmobile Replica Car as well. I'm hoping to get some video later and I will for sure post that, it's so cool!!

In this latest video from the Official Playstation 3 website we get to see what the "Knightfall" and "Classic Batman" Skins look like for the BATMAN: ARKHAM ORIGINS Video Game! New BATMAN BAT-POD JOKER 2013 Hallmark Christmas Ornaments

People who love Batman ( and Hallmark Christmas Ornament Collectors ) should be happy this year! For the 2013 Holiday Season Hallmark Stores are offering 3 different Batman-themed Ornaments. 



The first one we're talking about is the 2013 Batman Bat-Pod Motorcycle from "The Dark Knight Rises" movie. It's a special Hallmark Gold Crown Exclusive that will be limited to the "Ornament Debut Weekend" ( October 5th and 6th ) while supplies last. Only available at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores. Size: 4 1/2".  Also, sorry about the crappy photo, ha ha, but this item has not been released yet and this is the best pic I could find.



Then, don't freak out, there will be 2 more "Batman" 2013 Hallmark Christmas Keepsake Ornaments! One is called "Descending Upon Gotham City" and it's a re-issued ornament of Batman as a full-body figure ( The only difference from the previous version is that it's a different color and it's more in tune with the vintage comic books ). 



Then, there will be a "Talking Ornament" of THE JOKER ( Heath Ledger version from THE DARK KNIGHT). The cool thing is that you press a button and the Joker says some fun catch-phrases from the film.

Jerry's BAT-BIKE with BATMAN Autograph Collection

Hey, long time Bat-Blog Readers will remember this guy. We featured this Bat-Bike awhile back but Jerry sent us this new photo with some wonderful news. He's been going to a lot of Comic Con events scoring up brand-new autographs for his bike. You see, if he meets someone who is associated with the BATMAN TV Series then he gets them to sign his Bat-Bike!



So far Jerry has collected 12 signatures. First to sign it was George Barris, then to follow: Frank Gorshen (The Riddler), Adam West (Batman), Yvonne Craig (Batgirl), Julie Newmar (Catwoman, TV Show), Lee Meriwether (Catwoman in the 1960's "Batman" Movie), Burt Ward (Robin, the Boy Wonder), Malachi Throne (False-Face), Donna Loren (The Joker's Moll, Susie), Susan Silo (The Riddler's Moll, Mousey) and Terry Moore (Venus Flytrap).

I gotta say that I'm really excited to be sharing this news on the Bat-Blog for several reasons. One, as a little kid I was a HUGE fan of the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Series and it's so cool that HOT TOYS is coming out with some amazing super-detailed, incredibly life-like, figures. (Also, as I post this, it's September 19th which is Adam West's birthday and what a great way to celebrate). 



Next, this toy company has done an amazing job on these figures. I love their attention to detail and accurately. Yes, Super-Crybabies with Electron-Microscopes can ALWAYS find flaws.... but these new figures are pretty great!


Hot Toys is excited to introduce the 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure from the 1966 feature film. The collectible figure is newly developed and highly detailed, which is specially crafted based on the image of Adam West as the iconic character Batman, featuring a screen-accurate masked head sculpt, specially made costume with Batman Logo, Weapons and Accessories.

HOT TOYS - ROBIN THE BOY WONDER 1960's BATMAN Movie 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure

The HOT TOYS Company is trying to drive me completely INSANE by making some really great figures based on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show!! Arrgghh! This Classic TV Series was my personal favorite as a little kid and it's also what really got me into the characters, the comic books, and eventually, collecting the toys.



Now, in 2013 (yes, 47 years later, ha ha ), HOT TOYS has plans to release a Set of Batman and Robin Figures and then, a little bit later in the year, a huge 1966 Batmobile vehicle that is HUGE enough for these large dolls.



The crime-fighting hero of Gotham City is rarely seen without his faithful sidekick – Robin in the Batman 1960s television series. The campy and lighthearted TV show has become very popular with fans and a movie was made between the first and second season of the TV series.

Hot Toys is delighted to introduce the 1/6th scale Robin Collectible Figure from the classic 1966 Batman movie. The collectible figure is newly developed and highly detailed which is specially crafted based on the image of the Actor Burt Ward as Robin, the Boy Wonder! It features a screen-accurate masked head sculpt, the classic Robin costume, weapon and accessories.

Memes - Ben Affleck is Batman!

Here are a few random Internet memes I have been seeing lately that revolve around the issue of "Ben Affleck is Batman". Ever since Warner Bros announced that Ben Affleck will play the Dark Knight in the sequel  to the next Superman movie people have been going bonkers! I mean, people are seriously divided on this issue.

My stance on the whole thing is to just wait and see how it goes. I mean, he could end up being a really great choice or the movie will totally suck, there's almost NO way to predict what will happen. So, let's wait and see.

Hey, BATMAN Gets Spotted Everywhere!

Batman is everywhere. I mean, all over the place! Recently he was spotted with a very cool Bat-Pod Replica! The display even included some full-size mannequins and Superman was there as well. This all happened at the 2013 Connecticut Comiconn. I'm pretty sure that everybody at this local comic book convention totally freaked out! Thanks Dave for sharing the fun pic ( He owns this replica! ). Oh yeah, click on the photo up above for a larger, sharper version.



Then, on the south side of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (where I live) my good buddy Dave ( a different "Dave", but just as awesome! ) spotted this Bat-Truck and knew he HAD to get a photo! The Owner put a really nice Bat-Symbol Logo on the front grill, very very cool!! I wonder if he made it? (Thanks Dave #2).

Reaction To The News of Ben Affleck as Batman

It's both funny (and sad) because it's completely true. Dang, I've never been more embarrassed about crybaby fan-boys until now! This direct over-reaction has happened at the announcement of every Actor who has ever played the character. 



Back in 1989 a small group of people got together and sent Warner Bros a petition over the choice of Michael Keaton. Just recently, when it was announced that Heath Ledger was going to be the Joker in The Dark Knight movie, some people totally flipped-out! (He won an Oscar). I say hey, give Ben Affleck a chance. Wait until you see his performance and THEN make a judgement.

Ben Affleck is the New Batman! ( MAN OF STEEL Superman Movie Sequel )

OK, about an hour ago the internet broke in half with the major news that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the next "Superman: Man of Steel" movie sequel, which is slated to come out around July 17th, 2015.



Ben Affleck, of course, isn't new to the superhero genre. He previously starred as the blind Marvel Comics hero Daredevil (2003) and he even sort-of played "Superman" in the George Reeves Bio Movie, "Hollywoodland" (2006 - pretty good movie too). Hey wait! Is Ben Affleck the very first Actor in film history who will have played both Superman AND Batman? Cool!
