Here's a quick post to share some amazing photos we just got from Moebius Model Kits. They show many different angles of the brand-new 1966 BATMAN TV Show Model Kit they made of Adam West. We also get to see it in completed form, all painted very professionally. Oh man, this kit is so beautiful. You can look for it in retail stores around April of 2014. That's not too far away but I can hardly wait to see it, ha!

There's some really great stuff here like: The 1966 Batman Night Light, some Corgi and Corgi Juniors Diecast Cars, Kenner Superpowers Action Figures, Batman and Robin Captain Action Dolls, some Applause PVC Figures, a Ceramic Bank, the Aladdin 1960's Lunch Box, an Ideal Hand Puppet, Plastic Bust Bank by Mego, and much much more! All of this stuff is making me drool like a crazy person because it's all so beautiful!!

Here's a quick post to share this really great video created by a friend of ours. His name is Michael and, as you'll see in this clip, he's a HUGE Batman Fan! This is something he put together to show us his Batman Toy and Statue Collection. He talks about it too and it's really neat (Thanks Mike!).
Wow.... WOW! The big news with the Bat-Blog right now, and the BATMAN TOY DRIVE we're doing for the School Teacher who lost her Batman Toy Collection during the May 20th Tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, got some major press last night. It's all been pretty exciting! Yesterday, I was contacted by Michael Konopasek, a News Reporter for our local Channel 9 TV News Station, here where I live, and he said he was doing a follow-up story on Becky Joe Evans who is now starting to become known as the "Plaza Towers Batman Teacher". Last month they did a story about her and after being inspired by their broadcast I started a Toy Drive to see if me and my readers could help. Somehow they found out about the Bat-Blog doing this and decided to add me to the broadcast. So, I went to their building to be taped. Yeah, crazy right?!
Wow! It was crazy! To be honest, I really hate having my photo taken, even by friends or family. But I knew it would be great press for our event so I went to be interviewed. Now, knowing that you're gonna be seen by a ton of people... is completely nerve-racking, ha! The funny thing is that they interviewed me, on camera, for approx. 30 minutes... and then, after editing, I only appear for roughly 30 seconds, ha! But they did mention the Bat-Blog and how we're trying to raise donations so that was completely wonderful.
But the best part of the whole thing, honestly (for me anyway) was that they went to the Moore Elementary School and they filmed some of the stuff that has been donated by Loyal Bat-Blog Readers. Oh man! This is the first time I have got to even see this stuff. it's been incredible. I'm so thankful and grateful for the amazing generosity of the Bat-Blog's readership. I mean, I know that the response rate has been pretty good because everyone who has sent stuff, first, had to contact me for a mailing address. So, I knew those numbers were more than I expected (way beyond expectations) but to actually get to see all the great stuff people have sent... it's beyond words. OK, I'm starting to realize that I'm almost writing a novel here, ha ha, sorry about that, but I'm really emotional about this and at the same time very excited! Some Fans of this site have really gone the extra mile towards acting in a very giving way and I'm deeply touched by it. Honestly, I'm extremely grateful, Thank you everybody... Thank you SO much. Please check out the News 9 Video down below and you will see what people have been sending in. Keep in mind that those bookcases were practically empty!

I know a lot of people are going to want to hear about this because it's all very good news! Long-Time Readers of the BAT-BLOG know that for the last few weeks we have been running a BATMAN TOY DRIVE for a 1st Grade School Teacher in Moore, Oklahoma, who lost almost her entire Batman Toy & Memorabilia Collection when her school, The Plaza Towers Elementary, got hit. Her name is Becky Joe Evans.
We started a TOY DRIVE to collect donations for her so she can restore her collection. The wonderful thing, and I sincerely mean this, the wonder thing is that many readers of this site have become heavily involved. When I talked to her recently she said donations have been flooding in. I can't be any more excited about this and I really appreciate it so much. Seriously, this has practically restored my faith in humanity, ha!Anyways, we have two brand-new major pieces of news to share. One, Matthew Price, over at our local "Daily Oklahoman" Newspaper, published an online story yesterday at their "NERDAGE" page that shared the story. That helped a lot (Thanks Matt) and you can read it by clicking HERE!
Then, this morning I was contacted by a local TV News Station, News 9 (Channel 9, a CBS Affliate) and eariler this night I went to their building to be filmed for about 30 minutes. Now, the funny thing is that they will probably edit me down to 30 seconds if I even show-up at all, ha! But, if all goes well, our story might be on the local TV news tonight! If you live near Oklahoma City, OK. then please be sure to watch at 10:00 tonight ( Wednesday, Sept. 4th ). If it does air they will probably (hopefully) share it online and I'll be able to share it here later. So please stay tuned.

Elementary School Teacher Loses BATMAN TOY Collection During May 20th Tornado in Moore, OK.OK, For everybody out there who has been reading the BAT-BLOG for the last few years you know this site is all about the love of the "Caped Crusader" character and the joys of collecting Batman Stuff. We cover the new Video Games coming out, the new Animated TV Cartoons, Movies, etc... pretty much anything Batman-related and it's usually all fun and games.
But today I'd like to talk about something very very serious and I'm really hoping that many of you can get involved in this in any way you can. I'm going to try to explain this the best way I can and, in advance, I apologize for it's length. I'm just trying to be as clear and concise as I can. News9.com - Oklahoma City, OK - News, Weather, Video and Sports | I live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and on May 20th we had some extremely serious tornadoes going on here in our state. You might have heard about them, I think they made both national and international news. The US Weather Service listed the event as an Ef-5 Tornado (which is HUGE, like almost a world record). It was a very BIG deal and also pretty damn scary.
Now, this event happened during the day and I was at home glued to the TV. The thing about Tornadoes is that they can predict them in advance really well and while they're going on they can track them and almost pin them down to an exact address. The technology is pretty amazing! But as far as the storm event goes, you just have to sit back and take the ride. There is really not much of anything you can do except get yourself into a storm shelter and wait until it's over.
Most of the major damage of that day happened, not too far from me, in a city called Moore, which is about a 5 or 10 minute drive from my house. So, as you can imagine, I was watching everything on the TV Weather Report extremely close. One of the big stories of that day was about an Elementary School named "Plaza Towers". It got hit hard and was damaged severely. I mean, like practically destroyed and this was happening during a school day when kids were actually there, all the classes were full. In fact, seven children were tragically killed in the event and that makes it even more difficult to think about. My heart totally goes out to the Parents, Friends, and Facility. I'm sure this is something that will take forever to get over or maybe even never forget. I'm sorry.
Whew, OK, so here's where the story continues and it's the main reason for this post. It's really important to me that you keep reading, it will blow your mind, you'll see.
Now, after the storm there was some major cleaning-up to do, wounds to heal, and other very serious stuff going on like funerals to go to. It was seriously a nightmare for many people while others must have felt extremely lucky. The good news is that most people around here really give a lot of support to each other so hopefully that was a blessing in some way. Now, here's where the reson for this post comes in. I never really heard about these kids getting killed. I just assumed everything was OK. But a few months later they ran a story on our local TV news (News 9) about the Plaza Towers Elementary School. One of their First-Grade Teachers, a Woman known as Ms. Evans, was an extremely serious Batman Collector.
She has been collecting "Batman stuff" since she was 8 years old and had a huge collection. The cool thing was that she shared a large part of it with her Students. She displayed a lot of it on one wall of her classroom so the kids could see it. The sad news, almost all of it, like 98% of it, was taken away or destroyed by the storm. You can see some photos here which give you a good idea of the damage. In the "Before and After" photos of her classroom please take a good look at the mural on the wall. Do you see that graphic of a "Lion"? Now, look at the "After" photo... WOW! Some of the walls of the room are completely missing and the roof is gone!!That day Ms. Evans and all of her Students were in that room when the event occurred. Actually, she took all the kids to a small near-by bathroom to hide and everyone crammed in there to wait it out. They were in there, for what seemed like hours. Then, when they all finally emerged, this is what they all saw. There was even an upside-down car in one of the other rooms. WOW! None of her students were majorly hurt so that's the good news, the most important thing really. But, as a side-note, all of her "Batman stuff" was gone.
Now, Let's move on to the actual reason for this post. What we here at the BAT-BLOG want to do is start a BATMAN TOY DRIVE to help her renew some of her collection. We want YOU, our readers, to please get involved and HELP IN ANY WAY YOU CAN!We're asking you to please do one or two of these things:
